A personal computer relates to a normal PC used at homes and is used to perform general purposes such as printing, typing making presentations using the power points among other functions. On the other hand, the supercomputers are advanced computers that perform many operations in seconds. They perform hard tasks such as weather forecasting, nuclear analysis, monitoring actions, etc. The principal contrast between a supercomputer and a personal computer is the supercomputer performs with more speed and mostly used for scientific and engineer related operations.

Some of the advantages of using a personal computer include: it is cheap to acquire and allows communication and services such as printing, calculations, and typing. The disadvantages include only one person can use the computer at a time. Also, at times the desktop might require some costs of hardware. Supercomputer offers a range of advantages such at its massive processing speed, its ability to perform many operations at once without slowing down. The ability to perform multiple operations at once allows and enables the solving of many problems using the least time. The supercomputers have the capacity to be used by different individuals at the same time. The effectiveness of using the supercomputers has enabled scientists to come up with new inventions and ways of performing operations.   The supercomputer disadvantages include its cost, the cost of getting supercomputers are very high, and few people can get them. Also, the space it requires to be set up is massive plus the need to train staff before hiring since it is not easy to use.
