Should Colleges Teach Hacking?

I believe in order to stop crime one must understand the source of crime and in computer world hackers perform all kinds of crimes. In order to understand hackers mind student must learn hacking in school. Plus, as it is mentioned in the book if students can break into programs that means programs require more work to make it more efficient and less susceptible for hackers. In addition, in times like this when cyber-attacks have become extremely common we need equally efficient students to understand their strategy to stop those attacks. Learning hacking and performing malwares teaches students to protect themselves from spam and fishing attacks and trained student are resources to their companies to understand and become a defense line for them. On the other hand, some critics demonstrate their concern regarding student learning hacking can be potential risk for future employees. In contrary, I would say that companies usually perform background check on each employee before they hire them. Each employee wants to maintain their clean record from any criminal activity, so I highly doubt that any employee would throw away their career by using their hacking skill to damage company image or steal information. In addition, criminals already have hacking skills and not teaching student those skills will only make them victims.
