The Importance of Brain Development in the First Five Years

The emotional, physical and social development of young children is essential because it directly impacts on the overall development of a person. The development of the child in young age shows that how the adult a child will be. Therefore, I think the development of the young child is like the investment that maximizes and flourish the future of children. As described by the speaker of the video, a child’s mind is more developed from the birth to the age of 5. The early development of the mind impacts the ability of the child to learn and be successful in personal and professional life. The positive and negative experience of children in the first five years of life is useful in shaping that how their brain develops. According to the speaker of the video, there are mainly three components that are associated with the brain development of the child. These are genes, experience, and relationship. All these elements affect the brain development ability of a child.

The most influential factor that affects the learning ability and development of the child is the relationship of the educator with the child. The early experience of the child such as the child’s relationship, and the way he or she thinks, sees, hears, touches and tastes, the brain of child stimulate and create millions of connections. This experience helps the child to understand that whether he or she is in the safe or secure environment, whether they love, who loves them, what happens when they laugh, cry, etc. The early period of time is important for a child because it became a milestone for the foundation of health, behavior and learning life that are laid down. Allowing the children to play is also an essential party of the development because it can test the creativeness of the children among the things. According to me, with all these factors, the interaction and engagement of children with others also play an important part in the development and learning skill of a child.

One Nation Overdosed: How Children Cope with a Parent’s Addiction

The drug addiction is the severe problem that is faced by the various people in the country. The problem of drug addiction affects that each age group and also be responsible for various miss-happening in a family. As shown in the video, how a drug-addicted mother affected the life of Ohio, a teen from Victoria Brinkman, who grew up with the heroin-addicted mother. The behavior of her mother affects the development and learning of a child that’s why it affects Ohio. Therefore, at the starting stage, she takes care of her and prohibits her for taking heroin. But in the end, she leaves her mother and stays with her grandparents. This has various effects on her life and education. The development of her brain happens in such a way that now she spread the awareness among the people about the heroin and its severe effect on the life of a drug-addicted person and other that are associated with them especially children and old person.

I think from this drug-addicted mother, the person who suffered most was her daughter Ohio. She should take care of her daughter and helped her to understand the society, her surrounding environment, the things that are good or bad for her. Instead, she used her as a drug dealer. By spending her life in severe situations, now Ohio become a mature girl. Now she deals each and every situation with maturity. According to video, Ohio is at that stage of life at which she had to develop her future and focused on her career and personal life, but according to the development of her brain she works against the drug deals, spread and gathers the information about the drug addicted. She takes various risks to handle this situation.
