There are tons of differences between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Windows 8 has a much organized copy paste mechanism compared to its predecessor. For example you can now see multiple copy processes in one dialogue box. You can chose which copy process to proceed with and which one to pause. Windows 8 is much faster than 7 at the startup. The boot system in Windows 7 was based on DOS while in Windows 8, it is based on Graphical User Interface in the form of mobile applications.

There are also some features that have deteriorated in Windows 8 compared to Windows 7. For example the interface of Windows 7 was based on the classic windows style while that of Windows 8 is more like an Android or IOS style. I believe that the classic interface was the best.
