is it possible for a business to participate in unethical practices and yet be considered socially responsible?

Consider the scandals involving corporations, is it possible for a business to participate in unethical practices and yet be considered socially responsible? Explain in detail and support your response with references from the textbook.

I do think that companies may be considered socially responsible and be involved in unethical practices at the same time. Actually we might want to look at the core of why a company is involved in corporate social responsibilities activities. I mean do they really believe in these responsibilities or they just want to present a positive face to the public. If a company only wants to present a positive face, they might try to make up the money they spend on Corporate Social Responsibilities related activities by any means. It then, does not matter if these activities are ethical or unethical.
