Which marketing strategy was eBay following: market development or product development? Do you agree with it?

The eBay marketing strategy was based on market development in which the company aims to find the groups that are not being served in the market at all or are the groups of products and services that can help the business tap into new business territories and improve its revenues and sales process. The acquisition and expansion of the business operations and through it to get to new customers, the eBay tried to expand its structural business.

The products development strategy was only addresses when the company tried to focus on its main business- trading online through the network of customers and members online- by introducing the eBay business trading facilities through its other acquired business as well. the aiding process however was not initiated or developed that could have helped the users of the other acquired services get to the eBay services eventually because they were linked strongly and developed in a way to address the issues of the eBay expansion within the trading service.

I agree that the main strategy of the eBay was to expand its business in structure and n sales both. The strategy used by the company was not fruitful though it was not unique either. The company tried to acquire business so that is was able to address more market and attract them to the business of eBay it there was no effective marketing and attraction gaining tools developed and incorporated in the business that could have helped the business sustain its market position.
