Over the past few years there has been enormous growth in the use of product placements. Provide two examples of recent product placements and/or integrations (images/video/etc. are helpful). Describe the context in which they were used, and how they intended to reach their target markets. Do you think these placements/integrations were successful? Why or why not?

I have attached three photos of best rated movies 1. Forrest Gump 2. Taken and 3. Twilight. The movie Forrest Gump is about the story of man who physically impaired and was unable to walk properly. Somehow he was healed and fell in love with a beautiful girl and upon separation with her he started to run without any reason he ran a lot and made many world records. During his running he was shown wearing Nike shoes all the time and when public started to follow him they were mostly in Nike shoes. This represented that Nike is the best brand for running and sports stuff and created an image in the eyes of viewers that Nike should be their first choice whenever they plan to purchase shoes for sports purpose. Nike product named “Air Cortez” was tripled in value after the release of the film and people rushed to purchase this pair for sports and running purpose.

Further, the apple products are usually placed in most of the movies involve technology and modern communication. For example I have attached photos of movie “Taken” and “Twilight” both are popular movies and hundreds of other science fiction movies also displayed Apple products. This was a successful placement by Apple as it has created an image about the apple products. Because of these placement now the mobile or laptop customer usually prefer Apple’s iPhone and Mac books for their personal use and for using as a gift to someone and it created a fashion among the consumer to go for Apple. In my view whenever the products are placed in the movies that created a good image in the eyes of viewers always led the product toward success and more sales.
