What is the difference between the Resource-based Perspective and the Positioning Perspective?
Resource Based perspective and the positioning perspectives both focus on the competitive advantage of a business. The point the both differ at is the variables that contribute to competitor’s advantage in both cases. For example in the case of resource-based perspective the competitive strengths of the business organization comes from the inside. The internal resources that can be untallied to win over the competitors provides a basis to it. On the other hand positioning perspective also talks about the competitor’s advantage but the basis to this competitive advantage is provided by the consumer’s perception based on trust over the business.
