Question 2

If you have a documented and acceptable excuse (for example, a documented death in the family or the student is sick and has a doctor’s note) you must contact me immediately (within 24-48 hours) and provide documentation in order to makeup missed work. You must also notify me at least one week in advance if you will miss classwork because of an NMSU sponsored event and provide documentation with a scanned memo from the appropriate NMSU department. These are the only excuses allowed in order to makeup missed assignments, quizzes and exams.

Question 3

Collaborating or receiving help or assistance from anyone within or outside this course on the exams or quizzes is not allowed, doing so will be considered cheating. Knowingly assisting another individual in cheating is also academic misconduct. Duplicating another person’s homework  or cutting and pasting from the book or any source (i.e. internet) and turning it in as your own work is also considered cheating (the idea is for you to think for yourself and put things in your own words rather copying or cutting and pasting, so that you learn). If you are found cheating in any way in this course, you will receive an F in the course and will then be subject to further sanctions as indicated in the Student Code of Conduct.

Question 4

In order to receive even some partial credit on homework problems you must show all your work including equations and all math work (you will receive a zero even if you have the right answer but show no work). In addition, on writing assignments you can lose points if you use poor English or grammar. The ability to write well is one of the most important skills you can learn in college.

Question 5

It is the student’s responsibility when choosing to take an online class to have a reliable computer and reliable internet access. Unreliable computers or internet service are not excuses for turning in material late or not completing quizzes and exams. Traveling across the United States or to foreign countries and stating I don’t have internet access is not an excuse for turning in material late or not completing quizzes and exams. You are choosing to take an online class so you must make sure throughout the semester you always have a reliable computer and reliable internet access. This is your responsibility when choosing to take an online course.

This course requires that the student be able to download Respondus Lockdown for quizzes and exams. In addition, in order to use Respondus Lockdown on quizzes and exams you must load on your computer, either Internet Explorer 10 or 11 for PC users or the latest version of Safari for MAC users.  If you have any objections to using Respondus Lockdown you should drop this course now.

Stating “I don’t have the book,” is an excuse to not get your work in by the due dates. In addition, stating I did not read the ANNOUNCEMENTS,  SYLLABUS or MODULE DUE DATES is an excuse not to get your quizzes, exams or homework done on time.

Question 10

The Required Text is OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, 14th Edition by F. Robert Jacobs and Richard B. Chase (2014) published by McGraw-Hill. You should not use the international edition of the textbook or earlier editions of the textbook. I also do not recommend using a digital e-textbook as there has been problems in the past with these.
